A “summit” on attracting the next generation of arts patrons. The sponsoring group is led by a 13er.

Same group as involved in the “Next Audiences” summit. Focused on how to attract 13ers … and keep “the brain drain” from happening in companies and communities.

Here’s an article submitted to Mary Case, posted by me, an edgy 13er who is just a bit tired of the Boomers assuming they are the only ones who can lead.
The article title: Nonprofit Arts Organizations Face Leadership Crisis as Baby Boomers Retire. found at http://www.pnnonline.org/article.php?sid=7427
Any Boomers out there open to some fact checking? Boomers were the largest generation *at the time of their birth*! The 13ers are larger by 10 million or so. The Millennials are larger than the 13ers by another 10 million or so. Logically, there is no shortage of “youth” to be leaders.
Perhaps the problem solving comes from the Boomer generation doing some self examination about their a) wanting to share power and b) recognizing that leadership comes in different ways for different generational life cycles. People will lead in different ways and styles because, logically, life conditions are constantly changing and, therefore, the leadership required will be different.
That’s my two yen. And I have a lot more, too!
